What Does this Spinal MRI Test Result Mean?

My MRI show this: C5-C6 Dis desiccation, narrowing and posterior disc protrusion results in ventral cord impingement and central canal stenosis. There is midline sagittal diameter of 5.5 mm. What is the treatment and prognosis for this. I have pain in my neck and numbness/or decreased sensation in my 4th and 5th finger on my right hand.

Hello

Findings suggests degenerative changes in cervical spine.
Degenerative changes are generally age related findings. It is due to chronic stress on annulus fibrosis.

At C5-6 level, there is disc dessication(loss of water from inter vertebral disc). There is disc protrusion in posterior direction which is touching ventral thecal sac.It is also causing central spinal canal stenosis(narrowing).

Majority of degenerative disc disease patients are benefited by conservative treatment in the form of physiotherapy, analgesics and muscle relaxants.
Surgery should be the last option.
Physiotherapy helps in strengthening of paraspinal muscles and it prevents further changes.

Get well soon.
Take Care
